Mirror, Mirror

I was pursuing the Anthro website today, and amongst all the gift guide goodness I noticed these mirrors. And they are to die for! What I wouldn't give to have my reflection appear in one of these!

Yeah, that last one is my favorite and it was just so gosh darn lovely that I had to share the "in room" photo. And that just makes me jealous that my apartment isn't that cool. See Anthro! See what you do to me! Swoon.

This is How You Recycle

This is how you use cardboard in a whole new way.

Installation artist Luise Valdes collected a plethora of cardboard boxes to create this masterpiece he entitled ‘casa de karton.' Using these whitewashed cardboard boxes the artist re created his own apartment, adding lines to define much smaller details. The white wash and the cartoon like lines give the illusion of a drawing come to life.

Why can't we all do this with some spare cardboard? I guess that is what makes fine artist who they are. Yeah you could have done that, but bottom line is, you didn't.

Multiple Purposes

Although I know that re purposing has become somewhat a curse of a trend I am adoring this Etsy find today! Now I am not saying I am not all for recycling, I just think "re purposing" is getting a little out of hand. But every once in a while you come along a re purposed item so brilliant you can't help but gawk, just a little.

Blue Bird Heaven is an Etsy shop based out of Louisville, KY. The owner Jessica seems to have quite the passion for re purposing things. She likes to take the old and give it a fresh twist, giving it a more modern use. And that, I can get on board with.

I was after some letterpress who's it and what not's this morning and came across these treasures. Blue Bird Heaven takes letterpress printer's drawers and turns them into beautiful jewelry cupboards. They truly are unique, and if you think about it how perfect is this vessel for the cause? It is a seamless transition. I feel like one of these could transform your bedroom into something warm and inviting and "lived in" a wonderful heirloom piece. Check it out.

Beautiful and brilliant right? I thought so. I am going to have to save up for one of these goodies. They are just so charming.

P.S. Posting may be light throughout the weekend. It is alumni weekend here in Lynchburg, and I will proudly be making a fool of myself at this years Lynchburg College Field Hockey Alumni Game! Wish me luck! I hope to make it more than two laps around the field without gasping for breath. Have a great one blogosphere!

The Bold and Beautiful

Can we discuss this living room for a minute? Personally, I would never have the guts or the intuition to design a room this way, but isn't it amazing? I feel like it could serve as one crazy mood board for a graphic design project. I'm totally jealous of their style. I am also jealous that they believe in their design sense that much to pull this whole thing off

Thoughts or reactions? Give them to me straight!

What's Cookin' Good Lookin'?

Urgh. Today is an awful day. I loathe being sick. I feel all wrong and the worst part is when I get sick, I get loopy. Being tired, taking medicine and the fever just put me in one of those crazy places. So in light of all that I am drinking a ton of tea and honey. It got me thinking about comfort places and things, and what other place is more comforting than a kitchen? It's where we take pleasure in cooking, it's where our Mom's have always hung out and it's where you come together with your family at the end of everyday.

I need to get back home to my kitchen (not my tiny apartment kitchen, I mean my Mom's big 'ol kitchen full of goodies). But what makes a kitchen like this? It's all the heirloom stuff that you can't imagine your Mom's kitchen not having. You know, that apron, those cookbooks, those old measuring cups, the tea towels; get my picture here? Well one day when I have a house and kiddo's, I want these things from Anthropologie, to make them always think of me when they are all grown up and sick.

deviled egg plate
measuring spoons
salt and pepper shakers

more for the salt and pepper

measuring spoons
cocktail cook book
practical cook book
measuring spoons
measuring cups
cookie jar
bottle opener
oven protection
kitchen timer
super classy apron
anniversary gift tea towel
RIFLE recipe cards
measuring cups
more RIFLE recipe cards
extra sexy apron
Aren't these items to die for? This is how I want my kitchen. I want every last piece. I want my grand kids to ask for Grandma's floral measuring cups when they get married. Amazing. Oh and if you are completely in love with those RIFLE recipe cards, check here for the box they go in. Yes, unbelievable I know.

So what room in your parents house do you just want to pick up and take with you? Any key items you would just have to have?

This is a Hardware Store?

So this is a little surprising. Yesterday at work we had a baby shower for my boss' boss. Yup, its that confusing here in the corporate world. But back to the point. This pregnant lady has expensive taste, which is no surprise considering we bought her a $90 picture frame. Go figure. But, throughout all the pregnant lady conversation (ack!) she brought up this place called Restoration Hardware. All I can say is, "Wow." This website is amazing and their products, can you say gorgeous. I don't think I will ever look at Pottery Barn again. Ever.

So lets get to the lovelies. Get ready, the styling of these products will blow your mind.

An easel for the TV. Are you serious?!? Swoon.

May I please have those light fixtures. And don't even get me started on that wine display!

Love the typography art. I wish I had a drawing room.

I'm speechless over these chairs.

The beds! The trunks! The sophistication!

Aviation chairs! What I would do for one of these.

Note to the Hubs: trunks as coffee tables are awesome. I want mine back.

How beautiful is this bed? So luxurious.

Warehouse table? Industrial shelving? Yes, please! But it still looks cozy.

I have fallen in love with this desk. And the chair, too perfect.

The lamp. Look at the lamp.

This is how His and Hers is meant to be. Note the cabinets!

That light fixture! Sinks on different walls? What you can do with an unlimited budget.

If I could only have one piece of furniture for the rest of forever, it would be this chair.

Amazing. I am seriously infatuated with this place. The nearest one is three hours away, not that I could afford anything in this store. But it would be nice to take pictures and just sit on things for a while. It would make me feel sophisticated and expensive even if it only lasts an hour.

This website is going to be checked often from now on! I can't get enough of it. I am truly envious of their styling team. They are amazing and extremely talented.

I'm in love.
