I Hate Pricetags

This gem was delivered to my inbox this morning by none other than the to die for Madewell.

I just wish it didn't have a price tag of $168. So sad. But entirely gorgeous.

Never Overlook Classic

If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

I have simply adored Vans since high school. Recently, they have fallen victim to the back of the closet. That won't be a problem after I get my hands on these.

Remember this post. Mission accomplished. Absolute perfection.

Ear Bling

I love these. Mainly because they would match with everything.

They match everything in the same way I justified buying these

It's No Secret

I love shoes. As in I would have an entire closet dedicated to shoes if it were at all possible. *sigh* One day.

With shoes in mind, I have my sights set on these puppies as my fall staple.

Madewell, you are simply genius!

And while we are at it, lets throw in this sweater for good measure.

Almost cozy enough to make you wish Fall upon us already!

Sights Set On Fall

Today is the first day of August! And that means my birthday is in 23 days.

Ahem.

These might possibly be the sleekest pair of Sperry Top-Siders I have ever seen. In love.

I wear a size 7.5.

Just Temporary

While I don't have much of my own Twitter following, I do happen to participate in following some of the great bloggers of our generation (sounds official, huh?!). About a week ago Jessica Hische tweeted a link that is an absolute gem!

May I introduce you to Tattly.

And the greatest part, all of these are temporary!! So that means I can actually drum up the courage to get one! I must say it is refreshing to see some design-related tattoos that aren't ampersands. Don't get me wrong, I love a good ampersand but there are more icons to what we do.

At two for five bucks, this is going on my more immediate lust list. Too cool!!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

No. Not Christmas.

Project Runway!!

My favorite, most favorite show in the entire Universe started this past Thursday night. And I am not afraid to admit, I live tweeted the whole thing (@jhyphenl)!

So lets recap, shall we?

To start, lets go with my favorite designer so far. I know it's too soon to really tell, but this guy takes the lead in my mind. I will admit, not my favorite outfit of the night, but from what I saw on the pre-show, I'm into it.

Anthony Ryan

This was my favorite look of the night. It's pretty amazing considering they used pj's and a bed sheet. I have mad fantasies about having dresses like these fill my closet.

Viktor Luna

I thought this look came together, but I am really not into the fact that this chick cannot sew. If there is one thing I learned in college it is that you are nothing without a knowledge of fundamentals. I have a feeling the camera is going to love the drama around her, but she will be short lived. On a more positive note, she has style.

Anya Ayoung

This look was crazy chic. I have got to give this guy some props. He knows how to style, it made this look.

This dress was cute. I am not thrilled he won the challenge, the man has a background in fashion! His entire existence makes me miss Peach. He just can't compare.

Didn't love the jacket here, but that skirt is to die for!

I loved this dress! But that puking clown made me lose faith in this girl. Humor should not cloud your design sensibility. I feel like they should have called her out on it.

And now for the worst. I fully agreed with who got sent home, but this guy does not get let off the hook. I know the challenge was limiting, but based on what his peers put out there are no excuses. This was terrible!! Sweats with heels? Seriously?!?

If you don't watch this show, I recommend it! Highly! It really is a feast for the eyes and the design mind. Design is design no matter the medium, which is why I find it completely inspiring.

Let me know what you thought of this weeks episode! I'll be back on Twitter Thursday night, more than likely putting my two cents in.

Pixie

Emma Watson. She has come a long way since her Potter days.

The pixie has got to be one of the smartest moves she has ever made. Could she look any chicer? I particularly love it when they style her in menswear.

I wish I had the guts to go for this look. I need to just go in and do it one day, before I have time to consider it.

Would you go for it?

A Trip To The Mall...

never proves to be a good thing!

I ventured into Crate and Barrel, bad idea. I found amazing things for an apartment I don't even have yet! Oh the woes of relocation.

Well, for when the Hubs and I do find the perfect place I want this couch:
It is quite possibly the most comfortable couch I have ever had the pleasure of sinking into. And it come with a chair and a half! With an ottoman! Can you say makeshift chaise lounge for two? I can. It would be totally perfect for movie watching. I only have one issue, it only comes in that child-friendly denim fabric. Ick. I prefer a chicer finish. I guess style is the price you pay for comfort. What a bummer.

On a side note, I found this:
We aren't in the market for a new bed, but when we are this is it. A modern canopy bed, in black! It could not be more "our" style. And yes, on this one we would actually agree. And, I couldn't possibly buy this bed without the completely awesome ottoman at the foot of the bed. Perfect.

What can I say, I dream big. Really big. It may be out of reach now, but I don't let up.

When I Grow Up

...I don't want to settle for less. Ever.

I know how ridiculous I seem to be sometimes, but the bottom line is my life should not be less than what I think I deserve. And I am not up for settling.

This early-twenties thing is overrated. Does anyone else ever get that feeling?

Life is tough, and I am taking it one day at a time with specific goals in mind. And I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

Here is to never settling. Despite the odds.

Nautical Nancy

Well hello! I haven't seen you all in ages! No really, I haven't. So sorry! Things in my life have been a little upside down lately, but all for good reason. The new job is hands down amazing, so amazing in fact that I barely have time to register anything going on around me. It's design all the time and I haven't a single problem with that. It couldn't be a better fit!

Back to business. I wasn't planning on writing a post until I finished work today but these prints have me head over heels and I just could not resist sharing immediately. The Hubs and I will be moving to a much for nautical part of the world (yup, the great state of Maryland!) next weekend. While it is going to take a bit of time before we can afford our own place up this way, I have found the perfect first addition once we get to that point!

Check out these nautical prints from Black Baroque on Etsy, at $10 a print you know I will have my hands on a few of these! I see a mini gallery wall in our future.

I adore every single print in their Ocean Life category, but I think I feel an octopus theme for my future living room. That magenta print is just killing me. I know the Hubs will just adore it, right Babe?

One Sugar or Two?

Since the Hub's and I are moving, in a couple of very short months, I am on a decorating kick. You know, when you are all excited about moving into a new space and you just think all day about how you can reinvent it to be just yours. Ok, well I do that! One project I know I have wanted to tackle for a while is changing out the drawer pulls on our "old person" bedroom set. I really think these would do the trick to make it just a little more "us."

Back to the point! I was perusing the Anthro site and came across these pretty amazing chandeliers. I am not sure if I would ever have the guts to hang anything this quirky in our home (or if the Hub's would let me), but I do appreciate them for what they are.

I just can't get over how unique these are! I mean, imagine the conversation a piece like this in your dining room would start. I would have to hold regular tea parties if I had that first chandelier. Hands down.

Would you be gutsy enough to give one of these a try?

Speechless

What I wouldn't give to live or work (or both!) in a space like this. Absolutely brilliant.

All Dressed Up

I have been meaning to blog about this adorable Etsy shop for a while. It amazes me how I let it slip. I cannot get over a) how super cute this product is and b) how absolutely dapper this dog is. I think the amazing photography is what drew me into this shop, it really is stunning and makes all the difference. Without further ado may I present the brilliance of SillyBuddy:

Seriously!?! How cute is that guy. The Hub's desperately wants a puggle and gazing at this shop with me did not help. I still have my fingers crossed for a lab, but if we can find a little one as studly as this guy I am sold.

Now, I am wondering if I can order one of these lovelies for my Woody-cat? He can rock a bow tie.

Oh My, Good Gracious

I have a new object of affection. Hit the Dock Rudy by Kate Spade.

And of course this particular purse would not be complete without the cutest coin purse I have ever seen. Isn't it just perfect for this bag?

I may need to purchase these items (hey, at least the purse is on sale!) with the first paycheck from my new job. Yup! Thats right! This lady gets to leave "the 9-5" for something far more exciting and intellectually compelling. My new position is entitled "Social Media Manager," I know you must be as happy for me as I am because I have not spared complaint these past months.

The Hub's and I will be packing up and moving north to Annapolis, MD over Memorial day weekend. We could not be more thrilled to be closer to family, friends, the Bay, the beach and fresh seafood! This is a very welcome change. Peace out Hill City!

With all that said, wouldn't this purse be simply perfect for purusing the streets of such a nautical town? Excited. Yes.

Expect posting to be light for a while during my adjustment. I start the new job on Monday (yup, that means back here until the end of May). After that I am back, full force and hopefully better than ever!

Spring Where Did You Go?

The weather has been a tease here in Central, VA. One week we are loving temperatures in the 80's and the next we are pulling our winter coats back out because it has dipped down into the 30's. What. The. Heck. So, to drown myself in wishful thinking I share with you these totally not-affordable pretties. Hey, I did say WISH-ful thinking.

I just love that bold orange. I can't get over it.

Oh and a big news post is on the way! I have a lot to share with you all.
