Longing for the Beach

I'm not going to lie. This summer has been a little difficult for me. My entire life I have lived within minutes of the water, and I loved that. And now, here I am living in the mountains of Central Virginia. The mountains are nice, and we have the James River but it sincerely does not compare to being a short drive from the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. I really miss the beach. As a child, every weekend of every summer was spent with my grandparents at their second home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It saddens me to say I have only been twice this summer. Both times, it was too early to even imagine swimming. In fact I only caught a short glimpse of the beach.

It is really getting to me now, as I look back this is the time when I was at the beach the most. Just a week before my birthday, getting ready to start hockey preseason (don't even get me started on how much I miss that!) it was just those last moments of summer that always drew you to the beach.

So I have collected some beachy-themed items (yeah I was on a jewelry kick) and some key points to the Delaware Shore to tide me over until I can make the seven hour trip North.

I need a print of this is my house.

This would be perfect in a beach house. Modern driftwood?

Easily the best pizza on Earth. Always my first stop once I get there!

An upscale version of my favorite childhood accessory!

Funland! This was always the highlight of my weekend.

Classy Studs. The color begs for the sea.

The ONLY place to get ice cream at the beach. Orange and vanilla twist please!

Wouldn't this be lovely for a beach wedding?

The best french fries on the planet. Always eaten with apple cider vinegar!

Such a fun sea inspired piece. I would adore having this.

The iconic sign that dominates the Rehoboth skyline. They also have awesome caramel corn.

Take me here any day. But pick me out a pretty umbrella!

Lusting over this.

There you have it. A small walk down memory lane. I know, this was a little bit of a random post but I enjoy lusting over jewelry while thinking about delicious beach fries covered in vinegar. I know, I'm just original like that.

If you are at the beach, know that I am insanely jealous. If you aren't I hope this post inspires a trip. I need to get up there ASAP! But at this point, I think I may wait until they take the meters down after Labor Day. This girl is not made of quarters! Especially since one quarter only gets you 12 minutes these days. What a rip off!

What do you think? Have you ever been to Rehoboth Beach? Do you want to go now? Where is your favorite beach destination?

Punctuate away,

P.S. I promise to deliver a more quality post at some point during the day.

P.S.S. Don't forget Project Runway tonight! It's important stuff!
